  16. Communications through the serial port on some DEC machines may fail;
  17. only one or two characters actually get to the serial port. The
  18. following DEC machines may have this problem:
  19.  
  20.    DS 325c
  21.    DS 333c
  22.    DS 425c
  23.  
  24. The UART chip on some of these DEC machines needs to be replaced. To
  25. find out if your computer needs a new UART chip, contact DEC.
